THE SPIDER PEOPLE SERIES - LAUREN CULPIN

B2B Corporate

Name, Job and Team:

Lauren Culpin, Account Executive, B2B/Corporate Division

How long have you been at Spider?

I first joined Spider in February 2022 as an intern on the Corporate and B2B team. After three months I was promoted to Junior Account Executive and I’m now at Account Executive level and working hard to get to the next stage. The team are so supportive and really help ensure I’ve got strong objectives and a plan to progress. They’re an ambitious bunch and I feel I fit in nicely.

What accounts do you work on?

I work on a range of accounts, which is one thing I love about agency life. One account I currently work on is Transcend - sustainable packaging innovators responsible for pioneering the first paper U-bend straw for Ribena. Other accounts include coffee roaster and producer Lincoln & York, Eurotunnel Freight and modern governance leader Diligent.

What’s the best bit about working here?

The people at Spider make the working environment great. They’re a social bunch and love a pub trip every ‘thirsty Thursday’. I also think one of the best things is the regular Wednesday Workshops. These take place twice a month, with external experts coming in and doing talks on different parts of the PR and digital marketing industry. It also usually involves a nice lunch order from our local Farmer J’s! We recently had a talk from Through the I about the power of virtual events and podcasts. Virtual influencers and CGI spokespeople were mind blowing.

What are you looking to achieve in the next 3+ years?

Despite accidentally falling into the PR world, I am absolutely loving it. In three years, I would love to be at Account Manager level, leading strategic campaigns and even running my own smaller accounts solo. My main ambition is to develop my skills further and keep on rising. Outside of work, I would love to finally get on the property ladder! Given I work with a few property clients, I’m hoping to get some pointers…

When not at Spider, what do you love doing?

I’m always either on holiday or planning my next abroad adventure. Whether that’s a weekend break to Europe or an overnight stay in the countryside. I also love watching football games and going up North to see family.
